Five Character Meet And Greets at Disney World That We Love...

Attractions are important at Walt Disney World.  Resorts are important too.  Food is VERY important.  And guess what else is important? Meeting Disney characters.  For us these interactions are the icing on the cake of our vacation.  They add so much ridiculous joy and spontaneous laughter. Even if you are a grumpy adult who has committed to no participating in this long lived tradition, do yourself a favor and just go for it.
Here are five of our favorite meet and greet locations that AREN'T character meals:

At Disney's Animal Kingdom you can meet Mickey and Minnie at the Adventurers Outpost.  This location was converted from a store to a dedicated meet and greet a few years ago, and it works so well.  The space is themed to Mickey and Minnie's travels across the globe, with fun exploration photos featuring the two.  Their safari outfits are, in my opinion, the best Mickey/Minnie outfits currently in use at WDW.

Over at Disney's Hollywood Studios we find the Starwars Launch Bay, which includes a meet and greet with Chewbacca and Kylo Ren of Starwars fame.  The old animation building is now retrofitted and extensively themed to Starwars, including the space that the characters meet.  I've never seen Kylo Ren break character, which is part of the fun. Just look at the terrified look on our faces! Meanwhile, the warm furry embrace of Chewbacca is always welcome.

Pete's Silly Sideshow at The Magic Kingdom is probably the most immersive meet and greet at WDW, and like its name implies is themed to a circus side show.  Located within are two queues.  In one you find Madame Daisy Fortuna (Daisy Duck as a fortune teller) and Minnie Magnifique (Minnie as a poodle trainer) and in the other queue The Great Goofini (daredevil Goofy) and the Astounding Donaldo (hypnotist Donald.) The set for each character is just as important as the characters (amazing) outfit in this case.  Neither line ever commands much of a wait, so make sure this is on your list of must dos

Heading over to Main Street USA, in the Town Square Theater is Mickey Mouse. Yes, we already visited Mickey at Animal Kingdom. However,  this Mickey talks.  It sounds gimicky, but it really is a hoot.  Plus Mickey is a magician or something and has props...and the talking is awkward and awesome.  Just go do it.

Finally at Epcot is a fantastic meet and greet with Baymax from Big Hero Six.  The queue and set isn't all that spectacular honestly.  But I've included this on my list because HUGGING BAYMAX IS A DREAM COME TRUE AND SHOULD BE ON YOUR BUCKET LIST IN LIFE. Plus, like all popular movies of the day, these meet and greets are on a constant rotation and you never know how long Baymax will be here.

I hope you enjoyed our look at five random meet and greets at Walt Disney World that we love.  Besides all of the dedicated character meet and greets, you will also find characters in less permanent spaces, or just out in the open.  Don't ignore these characters either.  Make the most of your time on vacation, hug a princess, snuggle with Pluto, and cuddle with Marie the cat.
