Kill, Refurb, Marry: Songs From Animated Films...

I'm so excited to be a part of another round of Kill, Refurb, Marry! At this point I don't think I need to explain the premise of this blog series, but if you don't get it initially, I'm sure you will catch on quickly!
Today's round is dedicated to songs from animated films!  Talk about a hard decision.  Volume alone makes this one rough...but lets take a whack at it shall we?

KILL: Who Will Rescue Me? (The Rescuers)

Sorry.  I know this song has its fans, but this is no way to open a film.  When I was a kid I'd avoid this movie entirely because I knew I would have to sit through the opening credits and this schmaltzy song.  Yuck, I'm getting shivers up my spine just thinking about it.

REFURB: Love Goes On (Robin Hood)

Love Goes On is actually one of my favorite Disney songs.  The only problem is that stylistically it doesn't fit in the movie.  I've always admired the gorgeous Roger Miller country stylization of the opening song, plus Not In Nottingham.  The cross referencing of styles is really inspired, and I wish this song had been recorded in the same style.  Maybe Dolly Parton could do it justice?

MARRY: Scales and Arpeggios (The Aristocats)

Do I really need to explain why I want to marry this song? Literally everything about it makes me smile.  The moment the simple piano starts playing my heart sings with joy...not to mention the ridiculous and fun raucous ending! This is such a characteristic Sherman brothers song, and I just adore it to pieces.

Do you agree with my picks?  What are some of your favorite and least favorite Disney songs?  Let us know over on Twitter or Facebook!
