The main component of the theme was a labor intensive menu featuring items found at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Just because I like to toot my own horn (and Adam's horn…but not in a weird way.) here is a recap of the food. (yes, I'm shamelessly proud.)
Pickling jalapeños for the Sanaa bread service...
Adam prepping the veggie flatbread. We based it off of the
current incarnation at The Mara.
We made all nine chutneys/dips from the Sanaa
bread service, plus naan and kulcha.
The Mara flatbread…plus a non-mushroom one for the
"pickier" guests in attendance. :)
Obviously this had to happen.
What Animal Kingdom Lodge themed party would be complete without a Zebra Dome cake? Adam made that gorgeous confection from scratch, and plans on sharing the recipe soon. In addition to the food we also had a few cocktails available exclusively at the lodge, and listened to both the Jambo House and Kidani Village music loops. I've wanted to attempt the Sanaa bread service for quite a while now…and this was the perfect catalyst toward that goal.
