The Year At Disney Hipster Blog: Part One

2013 has been another awesome year here at Disney Hipster Blog!  We've adopted a few changes both in content and format, which tend to help things run a little more smoothly. (Thank god…) This also helps us focus a little more on the actual content of the blog.
The community surrounding Disney Hipster Blog has also continued to grow and thrive, thanks primarily to the always ridiculous Disney Hipster Podcast.  In 2013 we held two official meet ups one in Brooklyn and the other at Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Thats not to mention our amazing Crescent Lake bar crawl!
Here is a quick round up of some of my personal favorite posts from the last year, in chronological order, obviously.

-Early in January we proved quickly that you never know what you're going to get on DHB…as we dove into the backstory of the Adventureland tiki drums...

   - In an ongoing series exploring World Showcase we took a closer look at the China Pavilion.  So cool! Right?

   - One of our most popular posts of the year we are kind of harsh on the Liberty Tree restaurant. :/

   - I did manage to write another original song about Disney World… this time about Primeval Whirl!

   - Another really popular post…happened when we were "celebrities of the day" at the Hollywood Brown Derby!

   - In February we contributed to one of our long running series with a Coverland for "Everybody Wants To Be A Cat."

   - We also shared some great vintage valentines day cards! Love these!!!

   - And looked at the source material for "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes."  Seriously cool…and who knew!?!

   - We don't always hate on Disney's Hollywood Studios! We sometimes go there to meet characters!

   - Though currently unavailable we did get to write about Germanys chocolate covered grapes while they were still around.  I still think they were gross…

   - We were as surprised as you were to learn about the great veggie options at Le Celier! Yummy!

   - Honorary Disney Hipster, and friend, Mark Diba shared some details of the newly opened "Tangled Toilets!"  Hows that for timely reportage!?

   - Here we shared a cute video of us "rope dropping" the Magic Kingdom!

   - These vintage Disney temporary tattoos are a great addition to our collection!

   - While obsessing over the television special of the opening of Disneyland, this one moment really caught my eye! So fabulous.

   - One of my favorite "touring" posts of the year, our arrival day traditions!  I always love the first day at Disney World!!!

   - To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Disney's Animal Kingdom we wrote a heartfelt piece on what the park means to us.

   - The end of April brought "Disneyland Week" to DHB! One of my favorite posts was about Disneyland's petrified tree!

   - Continuing Disneyland Week, I gave my thoughts on why Disneyland's Fantasyland is better than The Magic Kingdom's lame version...

   - Sticking in Fantasyland, I lamented the temporary loss of the teacups.

   - We happened to be at The Magic Kingdom during the play testing of the fun new pirate adventure! Obviously we had to review this on the spot…

   - One of the most fun nights of my life was documented in a video: the Disney Hipsters monorail bar crawl!  Cant wait to do this again!

   - I was so excited to share with you guys the background music loop from Kidani Village!  THE BEST MUSIC LOOP EVER!!!

   - We reviewed our mediocre lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe.

   - Plus, we were stunned at the quality of food at Landscape of Flavors…especially the tandoori squash!

   - A document of our May vacation… told entirely in Vine videos!

   - How else would you expect us to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Enchanted Tiki Room!?!?

   - Friend of the blog, Megan, wrote a great review of the new Main Street Bakery / Starbucks!

Part Two of our year end recap will be out tomorrow!  Enjoy the rest of your new years eve…and don't drink too much champagne! :)

  1. Thank you for another great year of posts! They always bring a smile to my face, especially when they have a touch of snark! Hopefully we can get together the next time you're in town. :)
