Coverland: Lavender Blue.

The below clip is absolutely dripping with charm.  It features a young(ish) Burl Ives in the fantastic Disney classic So Dear To My Heart.  Ives was in fact nominated for an Academy Award for his rendition of this folk song.

more after the jump...

Though the song predates So Dear To My Heart by a couple hundred years, it had slept dormant for some time until the release of this movie.  Ives version remains the most popular and well known.  Enjoy these other versions.

Eh. Sammy Turner, you can do better.

I don't know what the heck this is...but its pretty freakin awesome.

MJ's version is probably the best of the bunch...

If you haven't seen So Dear To My Heart, try and do so.  We got our dvd copy via Disney Movie Rewards, hence negating any opinion that "they don't have any good movie rewards available."  The movie also features a very young and adorable Bobby Driscoll.

  1. Burl Ive's will always be my fave. Hearing him makes me feel like I'm curled up in a slanket on my couch drinking hot chocolate. I will admit that I was both repelled and amazed by whoever Marillion is. I felt like I had stepped into The Neverending Story.
